Wayyy back in September, Victoria rain a race with Daddy.
She was so proud of herself!
Alex and I watched and cheered.
... and found slugs under rocks on the side of the road.
Afterwards, we enjoyed some food and found our friend Amber.
The kids and I spent a fun weekend at the hunting shack with Grandpa.
We loved four wheeling.
Piper loved running ... and the mud that cooled her off!
What the humans didn't love so much was Piper getting lost. When we were half an hour away from the shack down a trail we had never been down.
She ran off sniffing something and didn't come back. We called and walked and called and searched some more. My dad shot off gun shots. We marked our locations so we could come back later.
We solemnly drove back to the shack on the four wheelers, forcing panic away ... in the back of my mind I was thinking I would call Matt to come get the kids, while I would stay at the shack and search for my girl.
An hour after we lost sight of her we pulled into the yard of the shack, and our
We have never been so relieved.
Crazy dog ... there is a swamp between the trail we were on and the hunting shack. We figured she followed a scent, didn't know where we were ... but knew how to take the shortcut home. She could have been sitting there for 20 minutes waiting!
The kids learned to drive four-wheelers. Alex gets the Honda, because it has power steering and I can keep it in a low gear (he revs it WAY too high). Victoria gets Grandpa's Suzuki.
They love driving them, and it brings back so many memories of my childhood!
I watched while keeping the pups on short leashes ;).
In between driving, there was lots of kite flying to do!
The kitty bitties kept growing and growing.
They explore everything!
Adelaide turned 1.
Here is the birthday girl with all her cousins. Lucky kiddos to be surrounded by this much love!
The Reed family took some family photos at Enger Park, and afterwards we had a picnic dinner!
Anna and Piper watched squirrels.
Inga joined us for the dinner portion of the evening:
Speaking of Inga, she and I explored Vikre Distillery.
And we took her to the Mall of America where the kids bought Legos.
And went to Hard Rock Cafe.
Where we played with said Legos.
The kids started their school year off great, loving their teachers and friends. I particularly loved this artwork in the hallway.
Both kids have a handprint there, but the first one I got a close snapshot of was Alex's.
And Victoria worked on her own artwork.
A full month!
