The Puppet Show

I recently came across these photos and video clips from a puppet show the kids treated Mom and Dad to awhile back.

These types of shows haven't been super common in our house, even though it's the kind of thing I always expected kids would do. So on this particular day when they gave us tickets and set up the stage ... I reveled in every moment of their humor, creativity, and teamwork.

The stage was a baby doll crib (Elizabeth if you're reading this you will recognize the crib!), with a paper stage added in the back.

I love how they huddled behind it, whispering to each other.

Here you'll see one of the finger puppets:

A couple videos:

These kiddos ... I can just never get enough :).

Skiing, Sledding, & Skating, Oh My!

As we face yet another spring blizzard, it's appropriate to look back over some of the winter fun we've had.

Skating at Bayfront ... where all Alex wanted to do was ride in the chair (did his blades even touch the ice?)

Neither one has wanted to sign up for skating classes, but we got on the ice a couple times, including one meet-up with friends Dylan and Jory.

Victoria did, however, want to sign up for skiing! She did awesome going out with her class every week. Here they are the first week of class:

My friends Adam and Sarah were helping to coach and their son Henry was in Victoria's class:

Although Alex didn't want to be in a "real class," the Nordic folks encouraged us to put him in some of their skis anyway. We did and he happily went along the trails enjoying the snow as well.

A short video clip of the Moses guy on skis:

The last day of skiing class they had a "race." It was timed, and on a very long and challenging course through the woods. Here is Victoria's finish.

A dear Twin Cities friend gifted us with skis from her kids. Here is the back of my car with skis in it -- I sorta geeked out having skis in my car again!

And Vic doing her try-on session at home. They worked perfectly and she got out on the skis several times.

We've done some sledding as well ... a little in our backyard, tons at preschool, and one afternoon with Ashley, which also included some tree climbing!

Here are some video clips of the girls sledding:

To us adults, snow often seems just like a chore. But even clearing off cars is fun to kids! And, I really appreciated this little guy helping me.

Now, let's just hope all the white stuff melts so we can get out on our bikes soon!
