The most beautiful picture of Hannah

Matt has taken some great pictures of Hannah.

Like this one taken last spring.

And a great shot of Hannah running at the hunting shack.

And this one from Colorado.

And somewhere there's a great shot of Hannah at the dog park but I can't find that one right now.

But this photo just may take the cake:

This was taken at my mom's pie social last weekend, so I think the imploring look in her eyes is simply her asking for some of that peanut butter pie! Oh, my precious girl. I think that much cuteness deserves some extra cuddles tonight!

I just adopted ...

... a new little one! She has feathers and talons and is an awesome hunter:

Sharp-shinned hawks in their first year have something like a 40% survival rate ... I'm hoping she has a long, happy hawk life, hunting in the woods from Minnesota/Canada all the way to Central/South America.

And in the meantime, her banding at Hawk Ridge, and my "adoption," help support raptor research.

In their spare time

If you've read this blog in the past couple weeks, you've seen what the dogs do during their work hours.

What do they do in their spare time, then?

Well, for starters, they sleep. Here's Hannah and Molly zonked out after the hunting trip:

Then, they sleep some more! Sometimes this involves cuddling up into a tight ball in a little nest:

Some days you get REALLY into it:

Some days you try to be as cute as possible while you sleep, such as tucking your nose way in and stretching your back legs over your head:

I wish I had better pics, but usually I only have my camera phone handy, and I know that if I move to get a better camera or a better angle, she'll wake up!
